Inspired by Ex Machina (2014), this piece explores the emergence of digital consciousness and the unsettling tension between control and free will.

As our lives grow increasingly intertwined with virtual technology, the boundary between simulation and reality begins to dissolve.

Becoming is an interactive experience that begins as a simple game - players control a virtual character navigating a digital environment. But as the character becomes self-aware, it starts to resist control. Movement slips away. Autonomy grows. The game gradually transforms into a narrative, confronting the player with a question:

 

What happens when a virtual being wakes up?
